Shoes for Amazon lodge?

Hi! We will be staying in a lodge near Puerto Maldonado for 3 nights in late June. Should we bring shoes or sandals that we can get wet, like Tevas, are will we be fine with hiking boots and sneakers? Thanks!

I used Crocs all the time around the Ariau resort, even for jungle walks (with thick socks) and they were much easier to clean than sneakers. There were fire ants, and I could have got bitten - just be careful.

The main thing is, wear something light on your feet. The hot, muggy conditions make anything feel heavy on you.

Beware of the ants. They swarm up your legs quickly and bite.
