Argentina- first time traveling there
We are 60 year old retirees and plan to go to Buenos Aires and ? in Argentina. We are in good shape and want to see the country as well as take tango lessons and visit milongas. Can anyone make some suggestions. We are planning a 2 week trip. Thanks

When is the trip?
You can go to Confiteria Ideal for a Tango lesson, and to watch the milonga.
Do not expect to dance at any milonga though..
Where you go outside of the city sort of depends on budget and time of year and how much time you want to be out of BA.

well, You will not see tango dancing in the NW but I promise you will love our peñas...
Folk music in the NW are zambas and chacareras danced in the peñas. It is a flirt while they look at each others and wave their hands with handkerchieves...
The nightlife in Salta is very active and the whole family enjoys around Calle Balcarse.
Salta, Purmamarca, the Salt Flats, Tilcara and Cafayate are the places you should not miss.
ADVICE; if you are going out at night take a SIESTA, to be awake for the night.
Have a great time.

Next February .. great ! you have plenty of time to plan and research . Our first trip here was a quick decision and not enough planning time, I was overwhelmed when we arrived and realized how huge this city is..
Milongas are for Tango dancers but not beginners. These people have been doing it for years .. you have to be really sure of yourself and the whole Tango etiquette etc before dancing in a milonga.
Have you seen any milonga Tango exhibitions on Youtube ?
I will find one for you ...
