Restaurant suggestions near theaters

I have an odd request.

I’m in charge of most of the planning for our group of 10 to NYC for 4 adults and 6 teens. One of the adults has recently had some dental procedures and has a hard time eating right now. She’s literally mostly drinking shakes. Any creative suggestions for a restaurant that might have a good selection for her (like soups, mashed potatoes, etc) as well as variety for other people?

I need options for 3 dinners. Two need to be near the theatre district, then the 3rd can be further, but easily accessible by subway.

I don't know how fancy you want. Juniors would fit the bill as they have several soups plus sides like Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, etc. Problem is, I don't think they take reservations. Any italian restaurant should work if they have fettuccine Alfredo, for example. Tony's di Napoli is one example. A deli might work, also, like Carnegie Diner and Cafe, as they have several soups, plus mac and cheese

Marseille (44th and 9th) takes reservations but you can check their menu for options. We like Don Giovanni which is diagonally across from Marseille but they don't take reservations and for a big group you will need reservations. John's Pizza on 44th off 8th does not take reservations but might for such a large group. They don't seat your party until everyone arrives.
