Hotels in Todos Santos
We are thinking of going to Todos Santos for Dia de los Santos (Nov. 1), but I am having trouble finding any hotel information. Anybody have any recommendations? It has been 20+ years since we have been there. Will be asking at INGUAT in Antigua also.

I haven't stayed there so can't help from personal experience. You could try the Thorntree forum since far more thorntreers will have been there than fodorites (search 1st, then ask).

I have not stayed here, but we checked out this place, Posada La Poza, and it looked wonderful. Not in the main down town, but very close.

Another place that looked nice and was central was the Todos Santos Inn:

I think the OP is talking about Todos Santos, Guatemala. Mentioning that they will be asking at INGUAT in Antigua is what makes me think that.
I was there six years ago. (TS, Guatemala, that is.) I remember the accommodation being very limited and VERY basic. I think most travelers on a moderate or higher budget visit as a day tour from Huehuetenango. I remember it being a rugged trip.
Would you be interested in Todos Santos, Mexico, instead? It's near the tip of the Baja peninsula but it's a world away from Los Cabos. It's a charming place.

The big activity for All Saints' Day in TS, Guatemala, is apparently this strange horse race. The riders are drunk. The spectators are drunk. People are injured each year. Some years people are killed.
Honest? You want to go all the way there for that? Michelle and I recommend TS, Mexico.

Yes, I meant Todos Santos, Guatemala. It is a remote village that comes alive for this holiday. We were there in 1987 and again in about 1992. First time, we stayed in a place that was right out of Indiana Jones. The bed was so grungy that I only took my shoes off and put my coat over the pillow...no bugs though. There were three stall toilets in the entrance hallway with a pila next to them that served the guests and the little café that was dark and smoky. The next time we found a little hotel with traditional pine needles on the floor. The little balcony overlooked the main street into town and the back balcony overlooked the toilet which had a very iffy door. No sink, there was a fountain in the courtyard for all to use. The horse race is fascinating...the riders take a slug of booze at each end of the course and last man sitting wins! And it is one of the places where outsiders need to be very respectful of the locals!

Don't get me wrong. It's a fascinating place. Mine was a work-related trip. One of my tasks was to check out the accommodation scene and it was exactly like you described. From what I've read, it hasn't changed in the six years since I was there.
So, having seen this [I think] awful horse race not once, but twice, you really want to go all the way there for that? Again?
Notice my smiley face. To each their own.
Re your comment about respecting the local people: TS is the place where townspeople stoned a Japanese tourist to death in 2000 for indiscriminately taking photos of children. There's a fear in some highland communities that foreigners have come to kidnap children.
