Has anyone ever used the travel pass from New York.com? It has multiply days for a pass and I am only considering the 1 day pass which is $80 per person. The below is a list of attraction that would be included. I will be filling a day with site seeing and I was just curious if this is worth it or is it basically a rip off.

I can't think of a way to get your money's worth from any one-day pass. It's simply not possible to see enough to justify this, in my opinion. Tell us how many and which. attractions interest you, and we can probably give you a cost estimate. But a drive-by of 6 different attractions for 45 minutes each seems a waste of both your time and your money. If that's all you want, take the hop on hop off bus and stay on for the whole route.

Like Doug said, you can't see very many of the places on the list in a single day anyway., The ones that are the most expensive so you think you'd save the most money are often the ones that need the most time so you can actually fit in just a few on any one day.

Yes, tell us what interests you and we can give you some cost saving ideas. MoMA and Top of the Rock have a combination pass, for example, and some of the other museums have days or times with lower admission costs. If you have a museum or botanical garden membership where you live, they sometimes have reciprocal agreements with sites here so you get in for free.

There is no way you can do $80 of activities in one day - unless you madly rush around from dawn until midnight - and probably not even then.

Really think this is NOT worth it.

911 - free, but you must reserve online
ESB - skip this; do Top of the Rock which has shorter lines and a fantastic view of the ESB
Top of Rock - do this; not free
Central Park - free
China Town - free
Statue of Liberty - statue is closed, but you can get a great view from a paid harbor cruise or a reasonable view for the free Staten Island ferry

So basically your entire itinerary is $27 (a rip-off to be sure, but it's on the top of most tourist itineraries). Double that if you take a paid harbour cruise, but the Staten Island Ferry is free. You'll need to buy a Metrocard with at least 3 rides, so add $7.50.

And this is why we wouldn't want you to buy an $80 day-pass.

Last year for my guests, we got additional pass free for the next day helping us to see more important places. Check for this and or whether this offers free entry to some important places.
