we went for quality rather than quantity
we did not want the 14 wines suggested by the waiter
we chose:
-chassagne-montrachet-premier cru-2008
-puligny-monrachet-premier cru-2008
-meursault-premier cru 2008
-batard monrachet-grand cru 2008
service was attentive as we were 12 guests in the dining room
the waiters had time to speak with us
we paid 220 euros for the 4 of us,including dessert and coffee

for all 4 total sounds like a very very reasonably priced place. Waiting for the confirmation, too,. but that is what i have understood, annhig.

We did this two years ago and really enjoyed it. We had a winery tour first, led by Olivier's brother Patrick, and during lunch, Olivier came to every table to chat with us a bit.

We enjoyed it about 5 years ago....had to walk around the village for quite a while after lunch before driving back to Beaune! Olivier came in while we were there,too.

That looks like a fantastic must-do for a trip through Burgundy. What was the menu? (didn't see anything on the website except for a recipe which looked yummy, but I'm curious

We had about 5-6 courses, starting with gougeres and ending with chocolate mousse. A tuna dish was the starter and then, a main of chicken and rice, followed by a cheese course. Each course was served with three or so wines...each explained to you by the person serving them in a very detailed way. The food is not the main event here and does not try to be....

I think the food was good, but, not the star of the show.....that was definitely the wines.....

I knew I should have written the menu down! Maybe having the generously poured 13 wine lunch has something to do with my memory? I emailed from the States for a reservation but did not receive a reply. On a daytrip out of Beaune we found ourselves near Puligny-Montrachet and decided to stop and see if we could dine there. When I explained that I had tried to reserve a table they were most apologetic and told us they would seat us! It was fantastic and we loved the dissertation presented by the attentive waiter with each pour. Lunch takes about three hours. We considered napping in the car but we were fine. Really a great memory of a special place. Oh, I did see Olivier talking to some guests and he seemed in good health. He said he has a four year old son!
