hotel tostay next to calmest/peaceful water

I leave very peaceful, calm waters at the beach. Very interested in staying at a resort in the barbados. Many of these high end resorts like cobblers and coral reef club have no tv in the room as an option to things to do. Ido love of have many options available particularly at night or when raining. I like a very accessible location: would be nice to be able to walk to a few other restaurants. Looking at the Treasure Beach as anoption. It almost seems that the Hilton which has a lovely beach and ocean may be in the running. Would like some thoughts. Thanbk you. Jack

The Hilton is in a semi-industrial area near the harbor and will not give you a local flavor. At Cobblers Cove, the ocean in front is rocky, and you actually have to go off the property for the sandy beach, but not a lot of walking room.
Treasure Beach is very nice, with a long stretch of beach in both directions. Tiny grounds, and do not get the lowest price rooms, as they are close to the busy road.
Having said that, Coral Reef Club blows them all away. Gorgeous extensive grounds, fine restaurant right on the beach, large balconies. Rainfall is spotty, seldom lasting long enough to watch a TV program. No TV is a blessing, IMO, because you don't have to hear someone else's TV--everything is open-air there. Coral Reef is a true resort. They have entertainment and dining arrangements with other hotels which also have entertainment. Their grounds are so nice at night, there is no getting bored just hanging out and listening to the tree frogs serenade you (tiny frogs whose mating call is prettier than 90% of the birds).

Perhaps bring a laptop or portable DVD player.

I would suggest The Sandpiper (run by same family as Coral Reef Club). It is only a 5 minute walk into Holetown for lots of shops and restaurans. Also the new Limegrove Center with high end shops, restaurants and cinemas will be open in December - again only a 5 minute walk.

They do have a room for internet and tv that everyone can use.

If you want television it has to be Sandy Lane for you.

The Hilton in Barbados is in a prime location on a peninsula. We always stay on the executive floors and see one beach from the bedroom and one beach from the living room. There is pristine blue water but isn't 100% calm. A very nice hotel. All the guestrooms have TV. There is a very nice pool area and whirlpool. You can't really walk to restaurants from the Hilton, but the Gap is close by via car or cab. Great nightlife in the Gap, as well. We have been to the Hilton in Barbados a couple of times and we are considering going there again in February. You can't go wrong with it!

It seems as though you would enjoy the tropical Caribbean flare the resorts on the West Coast have to offer. I think you'd especially love Coral Reef Club. However, The Hilton is an excellent choice also.

Coral Reef Club is such a convenient location within walking distance of Holetown and all the fabulous restaurants and shops that area has to offer. I'm afraid the Hilton doesn't offer that short convenient walk to restaurants, boutiques and nightlife, but is right on a lovely stretch of beach and does have tv to watch. I would definitely bring a laptop and a few DVDs just so as to have the splendor of staying at Coral Reef.

I appreciate the above replies. The Tresure Beach is near Speightstown? and the Coral Reef Club is near Holetown? If one does not use a car: what is around each of these "resorts"? ie in easy walking distance from each hotel; the difference in ambiance in the vicinity of each. Thank you
