chocolate covered ants in Paris

Can anyone tell me where you can find chocolate covered ants in Paris. My wife really wants to try them on our trip and I can't find anything on the net for where they are sold.

Hediard did store some in the 80's (imports from Japan) but i have not seen any in France recently.
You can fin them in the UK (for instance http://www.lazyboneuk.com/categories/Edible-Insects-/) or in the USA

There are ants all over Paris. There is chocolate all over Paris. She could cover some herself. Or try Le Bon Marché at 24, rue de Sèvres.

Used to be a store in Carmel, CA that sold chocolate covered ants AND grasshoppers.

I ate some ants once, by mistake and the weren't all that good so I'd say, if your wife runs across any and just can't resist, go ahead and taste, but I wouldn't be loosing sleep if I couldn't find them.

Actually, I didn't eat the ants..I took a bit of a doughnut and chewed and promptly spit it out...the taste...yuk and sure enough there were ants.

This isn't any French tradition, why go to Paris for such a thing. I thought people did that in poor countries or the bush or something where they didn't have real food. Maybe she can come to my house and have a smorgasboard of all the insects, starting with camelback crickets and proceeding to ants as the entree, with waterbugs for dessert. The only reason they put chocolate on it is so that's all they taste.

Look for stores here in California. They were common when I was a kid in the 60s. We used to see boxes of them at highway side stores when we were driving across California and also into other western states. There were other chocolate-covered critters, too. Happy Travels!

For those on a diet, come to northern Australia for the tangy, fresh variety, said to be high in vitamin C -

This is definitely not something you'll find on offer in Paris.

I'll take hazelnuts over ants with my chocolate.
Years ago it was a trend to find the ant/choc.
Thank goodness it was only a trend.
I'm not a great baker but I'd capture the ants outside my door abnd send them to you
