doolin to dublin

We will be traveling from Dublin to Kilkenny to Dingle to Doolin and probably back to Dublin. Instead of spending 2 nights in Doolin, any suggestions for an overnight before heading back to Dublin? We were thinking Westport, but that might be too much driving..maybe Kinvara instead of Westport. Suggestions for an overnight and any must see places along the way back to Dublin as we will be driving and want to experience hidden treasures... thanks in advance!

I would stay in Galway or Salthill. So much to do in the evening there. https://www.tradontheprom.com/ We walked the porm and it was cold but have seen people diving in and swimming.

Prom! We took the bus from Galway for lunch there one day last May. Galway has some of the best pubs, buskers on the streets and great food. I love John Keogh's gastropub.

Not exactly 'hidden' treasures, but...
Clonmacnoise monastery is just a few kms off the M6 motorway when driving back to Dublin from Galway.
Kilbeggan is a nice stop, too. You can visit/tour the distillery (whiskey).

If you stay in Galway, consider this restaurant - really wonderful food and ambiance.
