Hi all - I am helping a friend plan a trip for two in Greece. They are required to be in Vari for a friend's wedding but would obviously like to spend some time sightseeing in Athens. They will then make their way to Santorini for the majority of their trip as that is more of their thing.

My question is whether or not it is exceptionally difficult to get from Vari to Athens and back to Vari. A quick google mapping shows that its not too far of a drive and I am wondering if a taxi / ride share service is the best option? It looks like public transportation could be somewhat tricky.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Vari ( ΒΑΡΗ ) is a southern suburb of Greater Athens, located next to Vouliagmeni and Voula.
The distance from downtown Athens is about 20 km, or 30 - 45 min drive depending on traffic.
Easiest way to reach Vari is from the Metro station in Elliniko ( red Line - end station) with a taxi.
There are buses as well, but I think finding where to get off would be quite complicated.
