This is from my trip report from last summer:
"The next day we took the Waipio Valley Shuttle to ... (can you guess???) ... the Waipio Valley! It was a wonderful trip and I was SOOOOO glad I didn’t try to drive into the valley myself. Our van crossed five rivers--and a couple of them seemed way too deep for a vehicle to cross. The guide/driver was excellent and we really enjoyed the trip. We saw quite a few wild horses and some very beautiful scenery and waterfalls.
I hope this helps!
When are you going to be there?

Yes, Shar. I took the tour and enjoyed it. 2 hours seemed about right to me.
There were longer tours that included hiking and time too swim.
For the tour I took, we mostly stayed in the van, only stopping a few times for photos.
FYI, the views are similar to the Pololu Valley, where I drove to the lookout and hiked down to the beach.
I loved both experiences.
FYI, I'll be there in June (at the newly renovated Westin Hapuna Beach) for the Hawaii Songwriting Festival. But I won't do much sightseeing this time, because I go every year
and spent extra time the past few years.
Enjoy!
