Hello!
Couple in mid 30's traveling to Rio in late March for 6 days. I am able to book the Marriott in Copa on points but wondering 2 things: A) Should we go somewhere else besides Rio? B) Should we split our stay in Rio between the beach hotel in Copa and a B&B in Santa Teresa. Also, are there any recommended day trips out of Rio that do not require ridiculous travel time by bus?

I was not wowed by Rio, but I enjoyed a day trip to Petropolis. It's the second half of this:

My biggest regret about my trip to Rio was not having gone to Iguassu Falls when I was there. It's not exactly close but if you're in that part of the world I think it would be worth a detour.
There was a little island called Paqueta that was a nice day trip from Rio.

The falls are truly magnificent, but I figure they need at least two and better three nights.
