Suggestion for worthy stops on I-91

Hi,
next month me and my wife is taking a trip from NYC to Vermont. We will be taking I-91 all the way through to Vermont. Thinking about making one or two stops along the way. Any suggestion? i am thinking New Heaven at this moment.

Thanks!

Madison and Westbrook are considerably out of his way -- but Lenny and Joe's opened a third restaurant in New Haven.

And just over the Vermont border, a choice of two barbecue stands:

Top of the Hill Grill in Brattleboro http://www.topofthehillgrill.com and

Curtis' Barbecue in Putney http://curtisbbqvt.com.

Northampton iMA is a lovely arts town with great non chain stores and restaurants. First hour in the parking garage is free.

Several interesting restaurants; mosaic cafe has a really nice back patio with very good couscous and crepes.
Herrell's ice cream is decadent and wonderful. Try the chocolate pudding ice cream.

The Bridge of Flowers is about 10 miles from I-91. It would take about a half hour to get there and back to the hwy.

If you take that ride on rt 2 you will pass a tall tower on the right which you can climb for very long views. great on a clear day.
