We loved being on Mt. Nebo. I wasn’t prepared for all the goosebumps as we saw the Dead Sea and our guide pointed to where Jerusalem was located. It made want to visit Israel.

We, too, loved Mt. Nebo, and found it much more moving than expected. I was not expecting to have an emotional response but it is remarkable to be in a place that has so much historic religious significance (and I'm not at all religious!).

Thank you again for putting so much work into your trip report. I greatly appreciated being able to relive our trip in January 2020 because of your magnificent report.
Highlights for us were Luxor and Aswan/ Abu Simbel. We were on a boat that pulled right up to Abu Simbel, a good alternative.

Wow, what an incredible journey you had! It sounds like a dream trip, and I love how you managed to combine both Egypt and Jordan. The Pyramids and the Sphinx are definitely bucket-list sites, and Petra is just breathtaking!

It’s great to hear that you found reliable local agents to help you navigate the logistics. I totally get the desire to have some support, especially in places where the language and culture can be challenging. William Khlief sounds like a gem, and it's good to know about Djed Egypt too—even if the communication was a bit tricky at times.

Your itinerary is really well thought out! I’m especially intrigued by the dahabiya experience; sailing on one of those must have been unforgettable. And adding a stop in Vienna on your way back? Genius!

Im thrilled you enjoyed this trip report! It was one of the most amazing trips we’ve ever taken and that’s saying something. Offhand, I don’t have any additional advice as I’m away right now but if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. We loved the dahabiya experience - well worth it to experience the old-fashioned boat sailing done the Nile - it felt like we were living history. If I could go back, I’d really spend even more time at Luxor. We loved seeing the tombs and there are so many. Of course the pyramids are a must, too.

One of the BEST things we did before our trip was to subscribe to Wondrium and watch Professor Bob Brier’s lecture series. It was an actual presentation and not high tech at all, but his knowledge and passion about Egyptology really informed our trip and we really benefited from having seen the show. We’d see something in real life and we’d understand what we were seeing. It’s worth it if you want to go with a good understanding of what you are seeing.
