zip line attire

I'm wondering what to pack for the zip line canopy tour in Costa Rica. Do I need long pants? I expect it to be hot in Manuel Antonio the week after next, so I'm wondering if we need long pants as protection against rope burns, mosquitos, or what? We are taking antimalarial medication.

Nope. No long pants required, although they would be OK. no harm ion taking a pair along for "just in case" .we did the zip lines in shorts. . no problema. Be sure to pack some repellant with 25%-30% deet. It should keep you okay. Never had much problem with mosquitoes, but the little no-see-ums on the beach are a different matter. They are like chiggers and can be very uncomfortable. Some beaches are worse for them than others. have fun!

Wear shirt/shorts that you don't care about getting dirty. The area was kind of muddy when i went and some of the zip lines leaked muddy water onto my shirt. I was never able to get it out either. Also, you don't have to worry about rope burns, but you may want to take mosquito repellant.

Well, the day I went I learned why they call it a "rain forest". Drizzle, drizzle, and more drizzle. I was glad I brought a rain coat and a hat...

Have fun!

Thanks for the replies. Mark, I'm curious about the drizzle - what season was this? We're going next week. Thanks again.

I owuld suggest shorts and a T-shirt but both loose fitting, like workout clothes. When they strap you into those harnesses they are REALLY tight so you want to make sure you're clothes are comfortable and not bunching up on you.
We used Off Deep Woods and had no problems with bugs.
