Need cheap airfare to Mexico City

I have won 3 free nights at a hotel in Mexico City, but I'm having problems finding cheap airfare out of Atlanta. It's about $400 which would be fine if I were going for a week or so, but for just 3 days it seems like a waste of money. I've tried all the airline websites and cheaptickets.com-like websites and even Priceline, but no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Two thoughts. You could extend your stay, bidding on a 4-star with Priceline, and you could get additional nights for $60-$80 probably, at the JW Marriott or Maria Isabella Sheraton, usually, and there is PLENTY to do in Mexico City. Or, if you are flexible on timing, Mexico City is sometimes offered as a web special for--at least from Chicago via American--$199, but you have to leave on Friday night or Saturday, and return the following Monday or Tuesday.

Go check out the weekend fare deals using www.smarterliving.com

I just checked it, and they're showing that Aeromexico has a long-weekend fare for next weekend or beyond for $269 RT from Atlanta.

Have fun!

I recommend www.skyauction.com

They always have good fares to bid on to Mexico City. Have used them several times, and they are easy to work with.

Thanks everyone. The deal on smarterliving.com is for travel by the end of June. I can't travel until at least August. I'm going to check out skyauction.com now.

Thanks

Hi Monalisa,
We always checked Aeoromexico's site and booked direct on Thursdays...they used to post specials at 9am EST....I am not sure if they still do but depending on when, we were able to get fares of $125-$200 pp...This was a few years ago though...Good Luck and have fun ! BTW great name.

Register on the Aeromexico site. They send me special offers via e-mail on a regular basis- some of which are quite good. Unfortunately, however, I have not seen the deals out of Atlanta as you do from say- Houston or Dallas.

AA has a RT DFW-MEX next week end for $241 incl the MX taxes of about $82.
Unfortunately, I have seen nothing great from Atlanta.
