Xcaret Questions

Hi,

I several questions about Xcaret that I was hoping someone could help me with.

-is the underground river scary? I have a timid nine year old and wondered if she would be up for it.

-is there a day of the week that is less busy?

-on Easter Day would it be especially busy?

-how long of drive from the Tulum hotel zone?

Thank you in advance!!

I didn't think the underground river was scary! But, your nine year old might, in that event, there are many places to get out, go to another area of the river, or somewhere else within the park. You can give it a try and under no obligation have to stay in the river! And, there is a lot to see there otherwise!
I think it should take you about 45 minutes to get there from the Tulum area.
I'm not sure about less busy days. Sorry.

My 10 yr. old grandson loved the river. A lot may depend on how you relate the trip, i.e., being positive that its a thrill to be able to float in the river. Don't ask if the child will be afraid, don't put the thought into her head. Xcaret is a great experience for youth. As previously posted, you can get out easily. The ride from Tulum is short. The park is big enough that crowds on Easter won't bother you. It may be more fun for your youngster seeing others participating in all the sights, including the river. It will be fun for you all.

When we stayed in the Xcaret area, we took a tour to Tulum and the drive was about an hour and a half or so, including pickup at about 6 hotels. The river at Xcaret is not scary and a lot of young kids go on it. They give everyone lifejackets and they just float along. The only detraction is that the water in the river is a bit chilly. My nephew was about the same age as your daughter when his family went there and he complained about he water being too cold.

Thank you for all the excellent advice.

Does anyone have a strategy to avoid long wait times at Xcaret?
