It's going to be low 80's all week ..... with the humidity it always feels a lot warmer . Announcing rain all week , but that could go either way , you could(probably not ) have rain all day OR just some tropical downpours ! Don't despair !! Take a very lightweight coat , a pair of zip-offs or khakis and shorts of course !

We payed hotel and restaurants with credit card for the most part . We had a couple of hundred U.S. $ in small bills . And a few hundred in Travellers Checques as back up . When we would come close to running out of cash we used the atm's . Never carry too much cash around , and put travellers checques in safety deposit box .

You are at Mango Moon are you not ? Sweet , intimate little place .... It is off the " main " road , so you can hike up the hill to the main road to flag down a cab or catch the bus . ( the bus stop is right in front of Hotel Divisimar ; on the Cafe Milagro side to head to Quepos : on the Barba Roja side to head to beach ) Or you just call a cab from your hotel which will usually be just a tad more than flagging one down. ( always confirm price before you get in when you flag one down ) We would do this hike up and down from the main road past Mango Moon all the way to Biesanz Beach with 2 young kids .... At night it will be trickier so best to call a cab . Remember to catch the sunset and drinks at Barba Roja and watch the fireflys entertain on the lawn . Karolas just next door has great food , staff and ambience . Do go to little Biesanz Beach , I think it's a little Robinson Crusoe gem , complete with ducks , dogs and a wayward cow !!! ( if your lucky you could see a dog chase a duck and quickly and cleanly be-head it !! or unlucky .... however you look at it !! )Also on our walks we saw howlers , squirrel and white faced monkeys , coatis , racoon like critters , and a mommy and baby sloth . Hopefully after reading all the many posts and reports you have an idea what to expect in M.A. There are those who dislike it , and those who like it for the same reasons . If you know what to expect , chances are you will not be disappointed . It offers great beauty in landscape , views , flora and fauna , beaches , abundance of wildlife , together with nice hotels and restaurant choices .

Hola from Manuel Antonio! faithie's comments are 101% right on. Right now at 3 pm it's 81 degrees and 70% humidity, actually quite nice, not too hot but a bit overcast. Pack lightweight shorts, tank tops and maybe a matching short sleeved shirt for evening over the tanks as evening can be cool (68 degrees) Very casual wear, long pants of very light material (capris etc.) and denim is rather steamy here (although many of us love our jean shorts, the material is too warm and doesn't dry quickly). Enjoy your trip! The monkeys are SO active right now, you'll certainly see lots of them! Lisa in Manuel Antonio

PS: Hey faithie, when you coming back? Let's get together!

Lisa - good to see you on the board. Things have not looked so good down your way. Can you give us a better idea of the flooding damage?
