Which type of outlets for electrical appliances
I think I'm clear that I need 220V but which type of plug? I read a post, I believe, where they said US style 2-prong plugs worked as opposed to European style pins. But then somewhere else 3 prong was mentioned. I'm clueless.
I keep searching using different words and can't find that post now! Can someone explain what type of outlets/plugs I should expect?
Thank you!

Many of us browse the entire Latin America board (without selecting a country), so unless you mention the country (best of all in the title), we have no way of knowing what country you're talking about. Unfortunately, even though you may have selected a title when you created the message, Fodors doesn't make that apparent. The reader, too, would have to select that country, and as I said, many of us browse the entire board at once. I always advocate putting the country in the title so everyone will know right away.

I just tried the country box. My first guess was Costa Rica, but no. Then I tried Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Finally, I tried the country I'm most familiar with (Peru!) and there it was! Yay.
Yes, the European two-pin outlets are most commonly used in Peru. That's the only kind of plug I took and never had a problem.
