I'm heading to Costa Rica in mid-November and as I finalize our plans, I'm wondering how much activity-wise I should book before we leave. I have a pretty firm idea of what we want to do when, but I'm wondering if it might be smarter to wait on some of these just in case the weather is terrible or something similar.

I've already booked:
-Eco Termales
-MA Park Tour with Juan Brenes

I'm still wondering about:
-Rainmaker tour in MA
-Villa Vanilla tour in MA
-Sunset Tours Volcano Hike in Arenal
-Sunset Tours Cano Negro tour in Arenal
-Skytrek in Arenal

Any thoughts on whether these things would be likely to sell out? I definitely don't want to miss the chance to do any of them, but also wonder if I should be more flexible (I tend to be an over-planner!)

Eco Termales would be the one I would be worried about most, and it sounds like you already have that covered. I usually book Cano Negro ahead just because we love it. Rain in Arenal doesn't necessarily mean rain at Cano Negro; we've had it be pouring in Arenal but very sunny at CN, so I don't pick that one based on the weather.

I would book the volcano hike and Sky Trek once you get there. If the weather is rainy, I'd skip the volcano hike because it really affects the views.

You need to add whit water rafting to your list with Desafio! It was amazing. A lot of places will offer a substantial discount if you pay while their and pay cash!

November is not so busy that you can't book all of these when you are down there. The front desk of the hotel can help with this.

I also recommend that you relax a little, and go with the flow. You are putting yourself on a pretty tight schedule! Sometimes, the old cliche "Less is more" is true. I would fear that you are spending so much time on tours, that you won't see the country for what it is. You can always book more tours if you start to feel antsy.
