where to stay 1-2 hours from SJO to M.A.

I am looking for a place around 60/nt to stay about 2 hours from SJO. I would like to get a head start driving to my destination just south of M.A. after arriving at SJO. Your suggestions please

Everything that comes to mind is much closer to SJO. However I would guess that Jaco would have something in this price range and approx distance.

Anyway thought I would bring your question back to the top in hopes that someone else will pick it up.

What month? And what time is your flight arrival?

Great - you will have several hours of daylight left. It gets dark around 6PM.

You can make it to MA in 3-4 hours.

However if you still want to go only about half way, I am providing you a link to a website of a travel professional whom we have used and trust. I noticed that on his website he suggests a couple of $60ish lodging options in the Jaco area. We have never stayed in Jaco, only stopped by for a lunch and some shopping. Not many here on this forum frequent the area.

I am certain there are options in your price range, just not that I know.

Hopefully someone else can provide you additional info.

IMHO, Jaco is not the most desirable place. It was the only place in CR where they tried to openly rip us off, it was more expensive and it didn't have much charm (a dusty main road filled with surf/head shops). Depends on what you're looking for, I guess.

Thank you all. Just FYI, I am traveling with 3 kids ages 6, 8, and 11. We fly out at 6am and arrive in SJO at noon. I figured that we would try to make it half way to M.A. after immigration and a long day of travel.
