Sometimes new posters don't realize, when I see your question it's part of the entire "Latin America" board, even if you posted it under Costa Rica subject. I'm saying this just to help you get an answer to your question! I travel to Mexican beaches often, but when I've posted my pack list in the past, was informed that Costa Rica's a whole different thing. Hopefully someone will give you suggestions (or post again with both "packing" and "CR" in the title). Good luck, safe travels.

Bring the most casual and comfortable clothes and shoes that you own, the less the better. Unless you are staying in the few luxury resorts within CR, you won't need to dress up. Even then it is not really necessary. I wore old khaki shorts and tee shirts everywhere but the beach and fit in perfectly. alot of women wore the same or purchased inexpensive sarongs? to where around town. CR is not a place you go to dress up and stand out, so dress down and be comfortable.
