weather

I am leaving for Belize this Thursday. The weather has shown scattered showers all week. Are showers brief and intermittent? Will this effect our driving? We are going to Jaguar Paw and san Ignacio befor ambergis Caye.

Wow - you read my mind. Was getting ready to post almost the same question.

We leave tomorrow for San Pedro and can only find weather info for Belize City and Turneff - rain, rain, rain predicted. Will it be the same for San Pedro?

Any info appreciated (we talked two other couples into going back with us - TELL ME it isn't going to rain the whole time!!! *whaaaaah*)

I will be leaving for Belize on Saturday. We are staying at Bananna's beach on ambergis caye, Someone please tell us the weather forecast and temperature. Also what kind of bug repellant should I bring. Thanks

Don't worry. If I had a shilling for every person who is misled into thinking the weather forecast for Belize City is the same as for Ambergris Caye and other cayes, or even other parts of the mainland, I'd be rich. Also, the weather reports on the web generally overstate the amount of rain in a given area.

The northern cayes are mostly clear and warm now, occasional showers but lots of sunshine.

You might get some rain inland, but still plenty of sun.

Think South Florida weather.

Just got back a couple of days ago and weather was DIVINE! Weather report had me worried but only had one day of so-so weather - intermittent showers on that day but was still mostly sunny. That night it did start to pour as we got on the water taxi to go to Capricorn (wouldn't ya know it?) The capt. pulled out a big blue tarp and we all huddled under it and laughed the whole time so was all-in-all fine. Working on trip report now!!!

Tip: Eli at the dive shop gave us this advice: rather than watching the weather for Belize City, watch reports for Miami as what San Pedro gets is usually what comes through Miami with 2 (or so) day delay...
