Belize at Christmas

I think Dec is the tail end of the rainy season in Belize
Have you been there for Christmas and what kind of weather should I expect?

I was there briefly in mid-December and the weather was great. Our tour guide said jokingly that we had hit one of their two days of "winter". Weather was in the mid-80's.

December and January are definitely the coolest times of year. Meaning-- mid-70s to 80s during the day, so not too bad! It can rain a bit, though it's definitely tapering off and very few activities (snorkeling, diving, caving) are affected by the rain. Bring a sweater and a light rain jacket and you'll be just fine. It can get down to the low 60s at night.

I was there over last Christmas. It got a little chilly at Caye Caulker the week before Christmas because Belize got the southern tail of a big storm system that dumped snow on the eastern seaboard (I think that system gave Washington, DC their first big snow of the season). It rained at Caye Caulker at night and was overcast and low 70s during the day. The water temps were actually warmer than the air temps (yes, we went snorkeling even though the weather wasn't great). We also got some evening rainstorms after Christmas when inland. However, most days it was warm and humid. Mornings could get a little cool, bring a light jacket.
