Uber from Mexico City airport to Roma Nte./Spanish Park

We (three adults) will be flying from Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City in November.

My investigations tell me that the simplest way is to take Uber, which is about same cost as taxi, and less troublesome than taking the bus or the metro.

However I also heard that the city is trying to ban Uber from pickups at the airport. Wonder if that's true?

Uber in Mexico is so cheap that I don’t know how anyone makes money. On my last trip in Nov. 2021, I didn’t fly into Mexico City (other than to fly on to Oaxaca City) but I did Uber from my B&B in Mexico City to the airport. No problems whatsoever.

It is three years since we were there so things may have changed. Like many/ most airports the authorities are not keen on Uber and seemed to insist on a specific pick up point for Uber s away from the taxi ranks. Wasn’t hard to locate.
we passed through a few times and both taxis and Uber worked fine. The cost difference was negligible so go with whatever you are comfortable with.

There used to be a desk near Arrivals where you told them what hotel you were going and they sold you a ticket which you handed to the taxi driver. Is that no longer the case? Worked well and painlessly.

Fra, thats still the case. And if the OP's Spanish is limited, it'd be best to hand the agent in the ticket booth the written name & address of the lodging. Likewise a copy for the taxista.

But so far people have been ignoring the ban, and the authority is not enforcing it.
