Trying again- Arenal vs. Monteverde sky trek

Hi,

Wondering if we should do sky trek/zipline in Arenal or Monteverde. We have reserved Monteverde, but I'm scared by what I've heard about the height of the towers. I have a 9 yr. old with me. Thanks for any advice.

SkyTrek in Arenal is very high too! Your 9 yr old will have to ride tandem with the guide, but will be very safe! We loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Arenal Paraiso offers a zipline that isn't as high and may be more manageable for you. It gets great reviews also!

Thank you Jayneann. Has anyone out there done both? We seem to be able to fill up our time in Arenal and were saving that for Monteverde. If we switched, not sure what else in Monteverde to do?? The Arenal sky trek is not from metal platforms, is it?

One more question. Is the sky tram part of the experience special enough to switch to Arenal?

Yes, Arenal SkyTrek's platforms are metal. Do you have an email address? I can send you my pictures of SkyTrek to give you a better idea.

Thanks Jayneann. I'm at [email protected]. Would love to see pics. Wondering if there is a huge difference in height etc. Maybe it's not so different that I should be switching. Thanks!

Mrs. Fly and I are both scared of heights. But we were determined to try something different, and we did the Selvatura Canopy Tour (ziplines) in Monteverde. I must admit the first run had my heart pounding, but once we got past that one, it was great fun.

Jayneann, I was wondering if you could send me the link to view your pics too. Email address: [email protected]. Thanks. Originally I wanted to do the canopy tour in Monteverde, but I don't think we want to spend an entire day getting there from Arenal.

Now our decision is between SkyTrek Arenal and Arenal Paraiso Canopy Tour. Anyone care to explain the differences (i.e. how do the sights differ) and which is preferred?
