Travelling around Puerto Vallarta
Hello. We are travelling to Mexico in February. We do not want to rent a car. Could someone recommend the best way to get from the Puerto Vallarta Airport to Bucerias. Would a taxi outside the airport be wise? Is it costly? I am thinking that once we are in Bucerias, we would be able to take a taxi to different spots. Has anyone used a driver that they would recommend? Thank you.

I most often use a Federal Taxi arriving PVR. To me it is the most simple and cost-effecitive.
It depends where in Bucerias you are heading, but using Royal Decameron for example is Zone 03. There are three different taxi companies, doesn't matter which you use. You will see maps posted at the ticket booth in the Arrivals Lobby showing the zones and fares, around 500mxn (approx $30usd) for Zone 03.
I head the opposite direction south into the city but the procedure arriving and exiting the airport is the same as for you heading north. Other methods include: to exit the airport on foot, then cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the highway and use a non-airport taxi which should save some money. Uber is also available. There are also private transportation companies that are more costly but many prefer being able to deal with things in advance and be met by a rep (your name on a sign) in the airport. For that service a good one is https://superiortoursvallarta.com/

De nada. I have been to Puerto Vallarta many many times (just got back from my latest trip yesterday). I am quite familiar with many things around the downtown area, but don't really know Bucerias or north. But happy to help when I can. suze
