Hi Shillmac: yes, the airco is nice. I almost forgot what it was like. When I got home I wondered why my wife needed the airco on. She thought it was hot and I thought it was cool at least compared to Nica.

I think the next time I go I will take 3 or 4 books or pocket dictionaries and give them out to people who really express a desire to get some help with their English but maybe can't afford a book.

Hopefully other people who go to the schools this summer will post their opinions.

I'm definitely taking one to my homestay family this year--pretty sure they don't have one. It's a good idea. Always looking for something different.

I got an e-mail from the "new bride"--remember her, the one you thought looked pretty miserable? I HOPE she's happy, but at any rate, she has asked me to bring some type of popcorn ball that she has apparently seen advertised somewhere. . .almonds and pecans and popcorn, covered in chocolate glace? I've looked all over the internet for something like that and have come up con nada. I'm thinking of trying to make them myself! Suppose security will let them pass?!

How is the recovery process with the foot? I hope all well by the time Anguilla rolls around!

I just spoke with my daughter in Puerto Rico this evening. Driving home to Fajardo from San Juan, they passed a horrible accident. There was a fatality--in the road. The law there forbids the body being moved until the medical examiner has arrived. She was quite shaken. I hated it, but if nothing else, it serves as a reminder of how careful she needs to be--the driving is a bit crazy there as well.

Are you telling your many stories to your co-workers? I'd love to see their expressions!

Si. Co-workers were pretty much in shock over some of my stories. No spirit of adventure for them. I got an e-mail from my Nica teacher tonight. I will forward it to you. Interesting.. She is working on her plans for the new school and told me how much she appreciated teaching us.

Re; the accident in PR. We saw a guy on a bicycle run into a guy pushing an ice cream cart on the highway from Managua to Granada. There were also a couple of newspapers there that show all the blood and guts of murders, accidents, etc just like the news on Univision.

Re: the popcorn balls....hmmmmmm.....Don't know about that recipe. But, if it makes her smile it is probably worth a try.

will be anxious to hear how your family likes their new book!!

LOL! Doesn't say much for the groom, does it, when his new wife is relying on popcorn balls for a smile!
I'll be able to assess that entire situation in a few weeks! Will report back!

I'm glad you head from Angelica. I'll bet she does get that school off the ground. You should have an honorary degree from there! I'll just BET the colleagues were agape!
