Thanks, VG - very special place, indeed!

Xelas - our travel styles are the same, for sure. If I can get any type of info on Toro Amarillo, I'll let you know via message on TA. I'm hummingbird51 on TA. See you at BdC soon!

Wonderful report. I hope to make it to La Carolina some day as well. It's been on my "to go" list for quite some time!Gorgeous photos! I hope to focus more on photography during my upcoming trip. I'd like to get a macro lense beforehand. Maybe you can share some tips... See you at the GTG!

What fun to read your posts, colibri; you sure had a great itinerary for your 3 weeks. You know, the person who recommended La Carolina to me was someone who was on Fodors a lot about 9 years ago. I can't remember her screenname now, started with a J. She had two kids and traveled with them, worked as an interpretor. Good advice that gal gave me!

And then it was cattail who recommended Fran and Modesto to us. Our little Fodors world is so small sometimes. I love the friendships that have been forged here.

volcanogirl, I sure wish you were going to be at the GTG in June. It seems odd that we've never met! You and hip and I MUST plan a birthday celebration in CR one of these happy days!!

Thanks, colibri, for such a thoughtful and detailed description of your idyllic days in our favorite place!

I know shillmac. I think when we were at BdC we missed you by one day. I asked about you at the front desk! We just got back from CR, so the get together is not in the cards for us this year, but I wish you all a wonderful time - puma sightings too!
