The big day is almost here.
After 8 months of planning it is now the eve of my trip. I am looking forward to this trip and at the same time questioning my sanity for bringing a 14, 11, 7 and 2 y/o on a trip like this. Here is the itinerary.
6/29/09: Fly from Boston to San Jose through Houston. We are staying at the Orquideas Inn and will be picked up at the airport by them. Once I get the wife and kids settled at the hotel I will head over to Dollar RentaCar to pick up my SUV.
7/1/09: Drive to La Fortuna and stay at the Peace Lodge for two nights.
7/3/09: Drive to Arenal and stay at the Hotel Los Lagos for 4 nights.
7/7/09: Drive to Manuel Antonio and stay at the Tulemar Bungelows for 6 nights.
7/13/09: Drive to San Jose abd stay at the Orquideas Inn for our last night.
7/14/09: Fly to Boston through Houston.
I have my Garmin GPS loaded with street level maps of Costa Rica from GPStravelmaps.com. I have a pretty good sense of direction so as long as the gPS gets me in the neighborhood I am happy. I will let everyone know how the trip went on my return.
Thanks to shillmac, qwovadis, artiejay, volcanogirl, LynneL, SweetC, Heather49, txdenise, shellD, motmot and hipvirgochick for their input when I was putting this together.

It sounds wonderful - you guys will have so much fun! You know the Peace Lodge isn't in La Fortuna though, right? Just don't want you guys to get lost. Having a GPS is a great idea. I can't wait to hear all the details when you get back.
