Ski in late September-Where?
hi
we´re a couple of intermediate level skiers and we would appreciate your advice on where to go so late in season. Peru, Chile or Argentina are options
thank you

I was told that no snow in cerro catedral is a possibility that late in september.
we could consider chile but isn´t portillo too much for "pros"? What about vale nevado?

As you said there is always a possibility, but I dont think so, I skied in Bariloche-Cerro Catedral in early October 2004 and snow was not a problem.
Portillo is a lot colder than bariloche all year round, so chances for snow would be higher there.
Portillo and Valle Nevado are basically the same, Portillo has better hotel choices and hardly gets as crowded as valle Nevado wich is more popular.
I suck skiing, I am no pro at all, Portillo is a good choice for all type of skiers, and as I told you, both are a short ride from Santiago.
