It's okay, if you don't mind the drive after dark. We've done it plenty of times. Just be careful. After you've been around up there awhile, you'll be more familiar. The best route to get to Flamingo/Potrero area from Hermosa is through the country on the Congo Trail. It is a huge timesaver and last year the dirt road was better than the highway. But I don't think I'd choose that route at night. More traffic on the highway would be a good thing. You can be at Ginger to eat by 5:00 or so. I don't think they are open for lunch, but if they are then there you go! Yes, it's do-able, and you should. Heck, we might even go with you (following)! When are you going to be at FBR? I think I'll call them today, since they haven't responded.

I think it's okay to book with the agency who responded to you regarding AP. Was it Arenal.net?

RAL, what's your question? We had a great time there! Did you post the question on that thread from last year? I haven't looked.

Shillmac-I booked Arenal Paraiso thru the agent today. One more reservation and our itenerary will be complete. Were you able to get info from FBR? I say our itenerary will "be complete", what I mean is our lodging is nailed down. Now I start searching what to do and where. More fun!!

shillmac-I received an email from FBR last night stating the pool will be completed on June 12th. Even if they run a little behind I think it should be ready for our arrival on the 26th. I'm going for it! Thanks again for all your help! I'll keep in touch. Take care!

Oh thanks for sharing that info! I'll keep my fingers crossed. Nevertheless, I think I'll give them a call. I want the option of backing out of my reservation if it isn't ready when we arrive on the 22nd. That's cutting it pretty close. If we don't stay there, we'll probably head over to Sugar Beach.

Would love to run into you, but we'll be off to Playa Grande on the 25th and 26th.

Have a great time, and again, thank you so much! It'd BETTER be finished! I'm anxious to see what they've done with it. And I'm glad they are doing some upgrades. They did some last summer as well (or were planning to in August and September). I can't remember for sure what all they were doing. And I hope it doesn't cause the price to shoot up $50! I'm afraid that will be next. $79 per night is just almost too good to be true!

After all this I changed my mind and booked playa hermosa. I think the location to the airport and calmer waters suit us better. I know where ever we stay is going to be great. I've started my count down --25 days!!!

Belarus--I just returned from three days at Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar. See my separate post; hope it's helpful. I know you'll love your choice of beach.

ascoli, I am hoping to have a great experience at hermosa. I have also booked a deluxe double. Hope I get one of the new ones. So many ups/downs about every place we read that we'll just make the best of wherever we lay our heads. "Expect the worst, hope for the best!" Thanks for the report!
