We have not stayed at Secrets Maroma but Maroma Beach is one of the best in that area. We have stayed as Secrets Capri and Secrets Silver Sands and IMO you can never go wrong with a Secrets resort.

They are both great resorts. I know the service at the IB Grand is top notch.
The beach itself at the IB Grand is big and beautiful, but there are rocks at the entrance to the ocean. You can walk to the right or left of the Grand and enter the ocean easilty.
As stated above, Maroma beach is supposed to be one of the best around.

jp we have stayed at 2, Capri and Silver Sands. I would rate the food about equal at them, but we like Capri a lot better. It has more traditional style and design. Silver Sands is sort like the W hotels style, lots of white, silver, very modern look. We also like the large pool at Capri a lot better. Service is a bit more polished at Capri, but Silver Sands is pretty new so will get better with time.

If beach and nice water is important to you Secrets Maroma is much better than Capri or Silver Sands.

thanks, i'm looking between Maroma and Capri. Maroma cost a little more, so gauging if its worth it.

Beach and Water being better is a plus, as long as the Suites are atleast as nice and the food is as good it may be worth it is what i'm thinking.

its for a honeymoon, I've read Secrets Maroma is on the rise fast. On one site I read top destinations for honeymoon had "Couples Swept Away" #1 in jamaica, #2 was El Dorado Royale Casita suites and on down was Secrets maroma.

given how new it is I'm not sure they have time to properly rank it yet.

the Casita's at Royale were too much, and its such a large resort I'd rather stay at a smaller resort for same or less money in mid-level suites. i.e. Jacuzzi Swim-up suites
