If your budget does not allow for BDC, are there similar but less expensive places in the area you would go to? Thanks.

There's a place called Cabinas Jimenez that would get you in the same general area. Maybe check out tripadvisor reviews and see if it appeals to you.

You might also want to check out Encanta la Vida. I've been eyeing this place for a while now. It's in the same general area as BdC -- Matapalo -- but down closer to the beach (not on it, though, I don't think). There are uneven reviews of it at Trip Advisor, but it does seem like a reasonable, less expensive option.

El Remanso is somewhat cheaper, and quite beautiful. The owners are a fabulous young couple who care passionately about their environment. We stayed at both Bosque and El Remanso, and I'd go back to El Remanso in a heartbeat. Probably not as manicured as Bosque, but great trails, and great animal/bird sightings. It is just down the beach from Bosque.

Definitely check out El Remanso. Although I haven't stayed there yet have heard great things from travelers and owners of BDC. Cabinas Las Caletas in Drake Bay also looks great and I'm tentatively staying there my next trip.

Prices are very similar at El Remanso. I'll check Encanta la vida, I have before but don't remember prices. Not so sure I am interested in Drake bay, but thank you all for your responses.
