Sao Paulo/Rio Hotels

Hi,

A friend and I are going to Brazil in July. We plan to fly to Sao Paulo for a couple days, then drive up the coast to Rio for a few days.

Can anyone recommend hotels in both cities, and maybe along the coast?

Our hotel criteria: safe hotels in the $80 and under range. American is good. We're just a couple of young guys hoping to enjoy the nightlife and beaches of Brazil. (We heard Copacabana and Ipanema were good spots)

Thanks for any tips!

Hi,
The best place to stay in Rio is Leblon, because you will stay nearby nightlife.Copacabana and Ipanema is nice to know but there are a lot of gays and prostitutes during the night.
You have to go to Barra da Tijuca to see the best girls of the world on the beach. In Sao Paulo, stay at South Area.Apart hotels are good options and you pay about $60 per night.
Good Luck
Sergio

Hi,

I'm looking to make the same trip. Hoping to do Sao Paulo for 3-4 nights, then Rio. Looking at Apt/hotels in Jardims or elsewhere south. Any more suggestions?

Also, any cheap flights/train from Sao to Rio? I heard $300 one way flight, but need less. Thanks !

One of the cheapest air companies are : Vasp and GOL. An air ticket SP-RIO was less than US$ 50 (R$ 125) one way (VASP) - of course, it is not the best company, but if you want to save some money....
