sao paulo cgh -rio sdu shuttle? is it reliable?

I need to get from RIO to Sao Paulo for a 10:50 pm flite to Dallas which depart from GRU.

I have heard of the shuttle that flies from SDU in Rio to CGH in Sao Paulo . . . the bus service from CGH to GRU seems reliable . . .

Is the shuttle from SDU to CGH reliable? Shoudl I make an advance reservation on GOL? How early of I flight should I try to get from SDU to CGH so I don't miss my international flite?

Thanks,

MDM

Why dont you fly into GRU from GIG, I think that Varig has a shuttle that does that and it will be easier then. you only need to leave GIG at 8 PM to arrive at GRU at 9 which is 2 hours before your flight.

Otherwise you would have to arrive at CGH at 7 PM leaving SDU at 6 PM because I would imagine you would want to give yourself 2 hours to get from SDU to GRU.

I think that they have transferred many flights out of SDU to GIG because GIG has been slow so you may want to check with the airlines.

One other thing since your flight from GRU is going to Houston it sounds like it is Continental airlines which has a flight that goes from GIG and stops in GRU and then on to IAH and its the same plane you don't even need to get off and it leaves GIG at 8:45 PM, call Continental and get hooked up if it is Continental that is.

Well, its american to Dallas and it doesn't look like they fly through to GIG.

If two hours is enough time I could do the Varig flight . . . is there a chance teh Varig flite coudl be delayed?

It looks like the shuttles are more regular and you can save seom time in Rio in getting on at SDU . . . the problem is you have to take the bus from CGH to GRU . . . but at least there are more options

Thanks,

MDM

The bus shuttle is completely reliable. I take it several times a year. Just walk outside the airport- ( I forget what terminal) buy your ticket and wait. The trip lasts about one hour and goes through the center of Sao Paulo. The buses are very nice and comfortable as I usually just end up sleeping the whole way after a long flight!
