San Miguel de Allende
Has anyone been there recently? Has anyone taken any courses at the various schools there? If so, did you enjoy the experience? What did you think of the city?
Thanks,
magron

I bought a week long package for four hours Spanish instruction, hotel, all meals at La Puertacita in SMA last March. I loved the hotel, gorgeous grounds, beautiful rooms and nice views. The Spanish teacher was excellent. My classes were all private. I got the package on Luxury Link for around $1200 and was very pleased.
SMA is a very comfortable town to visit, excellent restaurants, many people speak English (there is a large American retirement community there), good quality of life. I enjoyed my stay and the weather was super.

cmcfong,
I am also in Dallas. I have always wanted to visit SMA and Guadalajara. Where did you book your trip and with whom? What airline did you fly? Here or email will be fine.
Thanks,
Craig [email protected]

Forgot to mention - LP has extensive info about how to get to and from Leon via public or hired transport. Also, do a search on here for SMA. I've received a trip report from someone in DFW area and how she got around. Very helpful.

Hi Craig, I sent this to your hotmail address but I keep getting messages your mailbox is full and it can't be delivered.
I don't live in Dallas but I flew through it to SMA.
American handled my air and I booked the hotel and
language classes by bid on www.luxurylink.com It
turned out to be a terrific deal. My brother and I
had private classes in Spanish every morning and had
the rest of the day to tour. SMA is very easy to get
around and enjoys a nice standard of living. I loved
La Puertacita and the staff was very gracious.
Hope this helps. Ten un buen viaje.

Sierra Nevada is in town, more expensive and very attractive. I loved La Puertacita because it was very quiet, the gardens were gorgeous, the staff unfailingly courteous and charming and the room was just lovely.
