San Jose Del Cabo

I get the gist that SJD seems to be nicer than CSL.
What is the best swimmable beach in SJD? What is the weather like in January.
I am renting a condo at club las costa. Is there anthing I need to know about the area.
Where is an absolute "MUST NOT" do or place to go or rip off.
Thanks for your help. I'm taking off there next week!

Was at the Presidente several years ago and now hear that Carbo is like Cancun sadly.. we found San Jose charming..the beach is unswimmable though..too rough a rip tide.. there is a bird sanctuary that you can walk for quite a bit on the beach..

Parrot is right, the beaches in SJD are unswimmable - the rip tides are very dangerous. If you are a beach person rather than a golfer, you may want to go to CSL. You must remember the SJD is quite a distance from the town site of CSL and you will need a cab or a bus, it is really too far to walk unless you are a fitness buff. We always used to stay in CSL but after last year, decided not to return as the prices had increased so significantly that it was no longer a good deal and also, it has become very, very touristy.

Thanks for your help!
How much are the buses and how long does it take to get to CSL from SJD on the bus?

Wait, don't give up on SJD. It has a lovely and affordable luxurious inn named Casa Natalia, right on the town's zocalo. Delightful, gorgeous, plush, comfy, beautifully designed. Check out their web site at www.casanatalia.com

The inn has a deal with an oustanding beach club down the carretera (highway) toward CSL. The beach there is lovely for swimming, sunning, there's great food, too. The service is terrific -- chairs, beach umbrellas, towells provided.
