Recommend Travel Agent

Hi!
I've searched online (i.e. expedia, orbitz, beachdestinations) for vacation packages to Costa Rica for Christmas, 2004 and non are available. Can you recommend a travel agent who may specialize in Costa Rica/Latin America? Thanks.

I like to recommend Pat Hewitt, who is located in New Orleans and owns a house in Monteverde. He specializes in CR, but does not sell packages/airfare. Rather he works with various hotels, car rental agents, drivers, guides, etc.
He posts frequently on the AOL travel site and many there (myself included)found him to be very straight up, efficient and helpful Check out his website at www.lovecostarica.com

Hi Alyssa,

We're going to Costa Rica in a few weeks and our trip was put together by Ralph Manalastas of Gaialink Tours and Services. The only thing that he doesn't do is arrange your flight. So far we have been very pleased. His website is www.gaialinktours.com. Other posters on this board also hold him in high esteem. Good luck! Allison

Another choice is Expediciones Tropicales with Costa Rica Guides as the US company (see www.costaricaguides.com). The company has packaged land tours , or will make one for you. They do not handle air, but pick-up from and to airport is included. You can pick any day you want for your tour.

Costa Rica Experts were fantastic in arranging everything, including customizing itineraries. I highly recommend them:

Virgin Vacations (www.virgin-vacations.com) has very inexpensive packages to Costa Rica. While we haven't used them for trips to Latin America, we've taken two trips with them to Europe and were extremely pleased.
