Realistic Time of Year to do SA?

Hi Experts:

Seasonal weather-wise, is there an ideal time of year to visit SA? Is there a really bad time?

Specifically, I am primarily interested in combining tropical Brazil (Recife), Sao Paulo, BA (with an estancia experience) and, possibly, an Amazonian jungle trip of just a few days all at once?

Would I be better off trying to do Galapagos and Ecuador if I have itchy feet now and want to go sooner not later, and waiting for the more Southernly itinerary for a more favorable time of year? Or will the weather still be ok (not cold or raining/snowing)?

Thank you for any wisdom you'd care to impart.

Just to add: I do realize the two itineraries are vastly different.

My preference would be Brazil at this time, but have traveled enough in bad weather to not want to do it again.

Thank you.

Here's a weather chart for Brazil.

It's rainy, especially in the Amazon. I'd go another time.

Galapagos is good.

Hey this is late but thank you for all that detail. After the post hung arund for a few days with no response, I figured no one would ever respond- which meant I asked a dumb question.

I will use those links to do some far-range planning. We decided to go to Hawaii in the near term (a whole lot less to figure out!)

Thank you again!
