Thanks Mike. It was news to me that being an obsessive compulsive Fodor's poster or lover of PV was a bad thing -LOL.
Thread must have turned ugly to get pulled, because last I read yesterday the discussion was reasonably calm and civilized.

hey frankie, thanks. you were one of the last posts i read on the disaster thread and all was warm & fuzzy by that point.
anyways, i renewed my registrations at a couple other travel boards this morning so i promise to dilute my presence here on fodor's.
although i have been brain-storming a 101 things to do in PV thread, in response to the comment that there was nothin' to do in that town.
hasta, suze

Faithie that is hysterical! I don't think the thread ever got ugly, but it became more & more obvious who the OP was and several of us commented on her unhealthy obsession.
Suze don't dilute your presence too much. I'm dying to go to P.V.(even though the beaches are dirty, I'll become violently ill & there is nothing to do)! I just have to figure out when, so I hope you'll be available for advice.

(for faithie) never said yes but didn't deny it either.
seems an awful big coincidence, two different 1st time posters show up in the same week with the same message (hate PV and don't much care for me).
i wondered about the authenticity of the post because when you list things to hate in PV, and don't mention timeshare sales people...

A new poster told about the "disaster" of their Puerto Vallarta vacation. PV is dirty, she didn't feel safe, there's nothing to do there, ocean was murky, sand was not white, almost got sick, shops were touristy, etc.
We asked for details about where they stayed and ate but none were forthcoming.

oh. well. we can find flaws anywhere we want to cant we. yes while some of those things are true, and i can even come up with other complaints all by myself about pv ie., the drivers on the road are merciless: pedestrians traverse the street at risk to life or limb; timeshare sharks (dont get me started!) we weigh our opinion with the counterbalance of the terrific unbeatable location (youre in the tropics, man) the abundance of charm, not to mention goodlord the restaurant choices are fabulous, and come on now, the resorts are great and still affordable.
attitude is powerful force. im sorry about the disaster poster having a bad time but truly pv is so easy to be enamoured with. what a maroon to complain of things that are part of the deal when travelling to another country, to visit where the culture is different from their own. she doesnt like change she should stay home. /rant off
