PV, Acapulco, Oaxaca or Mazatlan?

Hi fellow travellers! My significant other & I are considering going to Mexico in late November, but are unsure which area to visit this time around (we've already been to the Yucatan). We're contemplating visiting Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan or Acapulco. Any preferences? I'd appreciate any input from those who have already been there. We'll be in Mexico about 9 days, and would like to travel on a semi-budget (i.e., no five-star resorts, just good, clean, nice accommodations). Also, we like outdoor activities (hiking, shopping) in addition to cultural activities (history, fiestas, etc.) Thank you. -Cheryl

PV or Oaxaca would be my picks. I haven't been to Mazatlan in years but have heard it still doesn't have much to offer unless you are a spring breaker.

PV has a ton of great, funky affordable hotels. You might even be able to find a deal on a condo that time of year. Lots of hiking available and great food. Shopping really depends on what you are looking for...clothes, no/ jewlery, yes.

Since you are talking ocean with 3 destinations are you talking about the beaches in Oaxaca State or Oaxaca City itself. Personally of all the choices I would go to Oaxaca City because I find the culture so fascinating. However the beaches aren't bad either. The down side there are usually a lot of folks there because it is becoming very popular internationally. In a cultural sense there is certainly a lot to do and see there. Days will be very nice, nights quite cool. It would be quite different then Mazatlan and the Senior Frogs scene.

Hi , we are heading for Oaxaca a few days, how is the weather really? Does anyone know if women wear Summer of Winter clothes this time of the year.? How cold at night for a sweater or more? During the day what to wear? a cotton blouse? or something heavier...
