Puerto Vallarta Restaurants
Do any of you have any favorites in PV for restaurants.. have "done" Cafe Maximilian, Diaquiri Dick's, Bogart's, now that I'm listing it's more like "round up the usual suspects!"... so any suggestions will be gratefully received.. Gracias

I've got my favorite places here

and a full list here

If you can afford it and most tourists can, unlike I, who lives here, go to
Trio and The River Cafe

The Red Cabbage for dinner. The rooftop bar at Chez Elena/Cuatro Vientos Hotel for drinks at sunset. Breakfast at Fredy's El Tucan or Memo's Casa de Hotcakes on Basilo Badillo. Dessert at Pie in the Sky on Vallarta.

Last February, we visited Puerto Vallarta for the first time in 16 years. It was our wedding anniversary, so we wanted somewhere special. We had dinner at Trio and it was excellent. It was not inexpensive (kind of like Toronto prices), but the meal was wonderful. We stayed in a budget hotel (Posada de Roger) but splurged on dinner - I guess you can tell where our priorities are!

Barcelona Tapas is delicious and well priced. Cute view and good service. Garlic sizzling shrimp is my favorite.
The 180 in Old Town has a great chicken ceasar and live music during high season. Also has a pool if you stay in a hotel that doesn't.
I agree with other posts if you are going to spend $, Trio is amazing. You might also want to try La Palapa.
Somewhat new is Xitomates. Really good upscale Mexican. No view but nice inside.
Another $$ but goody is El Circo in the Marina.

Thank you one and all - funnily enough we met Bernard (Trio) when Cafe Maximilian opened.. He was the Chef there for about 3? years.. actually stayed with us on his way from Alaska vacation back to PV.. have not yet eaten at his restaurant and will try it.. La Palapa - love the place not the food.. River Cafe - ditto.. will definitely try the others - if you all think of anything else please keep'em coming.. Thank you again..
