Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Next summer our extended family wants to take a trip to Puerto Vallarta. We have thought of renting a villa, but they seem to be north of town by some distance and we would like to be south of the river in the old part of town. Is there a villa in this area for rent.? We are looking for mid-price and would plan to stay 5 to 7 days. We need three bedrooms, cooking facilities, and a swimming pool. If possible we would like to avoid three rooms in a high rise hotel but a small hotel might work.

There's loads of places that fit what you describe on the south-side of Puerto Vallarta.

Villas, condos, Mexican-styled hotels (like The Tropicana or one of the 3 Playa Los Arcos hotels). In addition to the two good options mentioned above, there's a busy discussion forum for PV over at Trip Advisor.
