Puerto Vallarta - Casual Beach Restaurant Recommendation

I've been going to PV for about 12 years, and we liked to have dinner our first night at El Dorado, which is on the beach in Playa de Los Muertos. However, after the hurricane, they upgraded the restaurant, and it's a bit too much for our first night when we look for more simple cuisine and lower prices. Does anyone have a recommendation for a casual beach restaurant? We'll be coming from Conchas Chinas, which is south of town, so anything in the Zona Romantica or near town is good. We don't want to drive to the Marina area. Thanks!

I really like Langostino's which, I believe, is very near to El Dorado. You can eat right on the beach - great Margueritas, as well as food.

Have fun.

I suggest you go to that same area (el Dorado) and walk the beach. You can read the menus and find a spot that suits you easy enough.

Or better yet (this is what i usually do) have drinks on the beach for sunset, then walk back off the beach and go to La Piazetta on Olas Altas or any of the many great places along B. Badillo ("restaurant row") and have your meal at Cafe de Olla, Fajita Republic, Joe Jack's Fish Shack...

Thanks to you both. As many times as I've been to PV, I've never seen Langostino's or Joe Jack's Fish Shack. Guess it's time to try new things!

Lagistino's is one of those lined up right beside El Dorado and the others on the beach.

Joe Jack's Fish Shack is a fairly new restaurant and on Basilo Badillo just one block inland.
