Poas Volcano Lodge and Peace Lodge

I just received an email regarding Poas Volcano Lodge. They are hoping to be open as soon as April 1st of this year. Also I spoke with Cindy banks of Peace Lodge and they are hoping to have the grounds open in the next few months. The trails might not all be fixed but they may be able to have admission to the grounds. Cindy has been wonderful and very helpful with my situation. She also told me that they are still covering wages for their employees even though they can't work. That tells me a lot about these people. I hope that I will get the chance to visit this wonderful place someday. She was very complimentary about the place we decided on to get married which is Xandari. Just though I would let you all know what I have heard.

Poas National Park reopened this week, but many of the trails are still closed.

We'll be at Selva Verde in a few weeks and I've read that the river is full of sediment, massive fish kills.

I had on my "to do" list to stop by the soda in Cinchona, such a sad situation.

But on the bright side, we are collecting lots of school supplies and donations to bring for Escuela de Poasito!

It's good to hear of the progress that is being made.

Colibri:

Apparently the river is getting better every day, and will probably (though nothing is for certain)be open for boating and rafting by then.

Let me know, RAC, since you will be at Selva Verde just before I arrive.

Buen viaje!

If the Sarapiqui river isn't open, there will be Class II rafting on the Puerto Viejo river (according to the company SV books their rafting trips with).
