Please rate these resorts in Riviera Maya

Hi all,

We like a nice beach, a great pool with a nice bar, clean rooms and good food. Trying to narrow down our options. Considering the criteria listed, please give me your feedback and rate the following resorts:

Riu Playacar
Iberostar Tucan
Palladium Grand Resort
Riu Palace
Iberostar Paraiso Lindo
Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar

Hey, there, Rick! Didn't know you were on here!

I can't help but wonder how different those resorts can really be, in the long run, I mean, 3 of them are Iberostars and 2 of them are Rius, and in some cases resorts of those chains that go under different names actually share the same phsyical space and reception areas, right? I don't think there could be as much variation between any two of them as there might be between any one of them and about any non-AI hotel you chose.

Not trying to be a curmudgeon, just saying that in the overall scheme of things, sounds like the difference between Pepsi and Coke, to me!

We're going to the Riu Palace this July. Did a lot of research and would say that the Palace and the Palladium are the best. Riu Palace is closer to Playa del Carmen, which is what we wanted. You can also get good feedback at Locogringo.com on these resorts.
