We stayed at the condo's in March. They are very nice. That being said I was disapointed in the Paradisus itself even though i have always wanted to go there since we had stayed at the one in the Dominican. It is a 20 minute walk from the condo to the main lobby of the Paradisus then you have to wait for a tram because it another 15 minutes to the pool. Th beach is gorgeous and if you have a car the surrounding towns are very nice. Brasilito is gorgeous and Flamingo is pretty. Lots of nice restaurants. The food at the Paradisus
is expensive. I would stay in the area but not for the Paradisus. The condo itslf is beautiful but really it is not Costa Rica - you could be anywhere! I would be happy to answer any questions

Any suggestions of other more Costa Rican places to stay in Playa Conchal, Hermosa, Flamingo? Have family of 5. Also thought about house at Flamingo or Hermosa.

You'll be out and about enough while at the Paradisus, I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a feel for Costa Rica. The little town of Brasilito is a good way to do it. Make a trip to Playa Grande, Playa Negra or Avellenas--or up to Playas Potrero or Penca or Pan de Azucar. There a lot to explore in that area. There's nothing wrong with staying in a beautiful condo while you're touring around! And LOTS of places to eat without relying on the Paradisus.

DO check out The Happy Snapper and Camaron Dorado (especially) in Brasilito. Also try Marie's in Flamingo or El Castillo (a bakery/sandwich restaurant) in Potrero. There are a gadzillion places to eat in Tamarindo as well--just 20 min. away.

I believe that in Playa Hermosa Villas del Sol, Condovac, Acacia and Mangaby are all Costa Rican owned hotels/condos/villas.

Canadians own Villas del Sol in Playa Hermosa--or did last year. I think maybe rcoxhorns is thinking of a place with a more "Costa Rican Feel". I just really like the Playa Conchal area, so guess I'm a little partial! If rcoxhorns likes golf, then it would be "no contest"!
