Planning trip to Panama
Hi all,
I'm planning a last minute trip to Panama. March 11th -16th. It will a mother daughter trip. It's her birthday. What do you all recommend we see while there? Also thoughts about vaccinations prior to travel. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Vaccinations probably the standards (Hep A).
Lots to do in Panama City, really depends on your interests. Nature, history, canal, nightlife, culture, etc.
A visit/tour of the Miraflores locks visitor center is probably the closest thing to a 'must-see.'

2-3 nights panama city. Locks, Folkloric dance/dinner show possibly if that interests you, panama viejo.. cute cafés restaurants, hike the local rainforest jungle one morning.. see some wildlife.. very easy. There are a couple interesting museums in the old part also of the city, which is the only "charming" area and surrounded by bad neighborhoods so don't wander out of the immediate renovated area. just take water and snacks. Then go off to the islands for beautiful beaches for day trip or overnights. not enough to do in P.C. for so many days and PC does not have nice beaches.
I went alone and did not have any problems. I did not go to the recommended beach islands as I didn´t have time ( 3 nights total) but my daughter did and loved it. San Blas, Boca de Toro, etc.
Main problem is taxi drivers.. their prices are al over the place. I found a couple who were very honest in their quotes. The hotel taxi was NEVER my best choice.
If you would like their names and numbers i can post them.
