Our plans so far

We booked our flights to Costa Rica and are planning to stay two nights in Arenal (Observatory Lodge) and four nights at Villa Nicolas in Manuel Antonio area. Our flight back is at 3:25 PM. Should we drive a rental car back to San Jose that day or make other plans? Also, what is a good car rental agency--should we pick up car after our first night in san jose area for the drive to Arenal? Thanks, posters for the help.

www.mapache.com

www.wild-rider.com

www.servicecarrental.com

3 good ones I use

www.casabellarita.com great around flights

You have plenty of time to drive up from MA

for your PM flight probably would just do that,

Happy Journey,

I'd feel comfortable going back the day of. Tricolor is another popular agency. If you don't want to drive, you can also book a private driver through your hotel or use Interbus. We didn't have a rental car in MA and didn't miss it. Things are close together and taxis are pretty cheap.

I would definitely add a night in Arenal and take a night from MA. You'd be fine getting back to San Jose the day of your flight.

Agree with hip - Arenal is worth three nights. Lots to see and do there, plus a better shot at seeing the volcano.
